Looks like I'll be in the Ocala area March 8-10th.

My wife is participating in a "Becoming an Outdoors Woman" educational program.

This will take place from March 8th to the 10th. I will be driving her down, dropping her off, and then I'll have the rest of the time to myself to do as I please. Until I have to pick her up again, of course.

I'm thinking about getting a hang or two in down that way. Any must see places, or choice hang locations?

Over New Years I hiked from Juniper Springs up to Hopkins Prairie on the Fla. Trail and Hammocked at Hidden Pond. There were about 40 sandhill Craine that flew in late at night singing us to sleep. Be sure to take in the loop around the Yearling Trail. About 15 miles total.

Hidden Pond is actually 5 miles from either end between Juniper Springs and Hopkins Prairie.

    Ocala Area

It is a ways but Gold Head is nice. I have been in the Primative area a couple of times with my Scouts. It is about 3/4 mile down the FL Trail from a parking lot in the park.

I have always hung my hammock when there. Never any problems.
