The GT Bugnet has a floor in it. Maybe you can try that. It may be a little heavier than a regular bugnet, but not as heavy as an extra tent for the dog. Or you may want to consider the Hammock Bliss Sky Tent, (hung low) but it is much more expensive.

The hammock bliss net I have was the same weight as the grand trunk if I remember right... It weighs 19oz...

That GT Bugnet looks interesting Baja. I may have to look into it.

I have one I want to try for when I take my dog with me. I got it a couple months ago, but haven't tried it yet. Life sure does get in the way sometimes.
I may put mine up this weekend to check it out. Thanks for the motivation.

I have a Daniff (mastiff/Great Dane mix) and he sleeps beside my hammock on a ground cloth that has waterproof nylon on one side and soft fabric (unsure of material) on the other. the soft material keeps him warm while the nylon keeps him dry.

jteal71, I think if your dog was in the GT Bugnet my hammock and I would never fit. That sounds like a huge dog.

LOL! He is 6 months old and weighs over 100 lbs already. We are expecting him to top out at around 200. Now the little one, Josie (20lbs) she just sleeps in my lap

I may end up using an ENO singlenest with the Eno bugnet over it, put two layers of CCF inside it and just see if my dog will hang in it by herself...this would be ideal especially on trips in the boreal forest where the ground is oftentimes swampy and wet...I promise to post pics and maybe a short video of her in it should I have success.

I hav read of some people packing an amsteel dog run to give fido room to maneuver at night. As I am lacking a best friend currently I haven't a foggiest but am enjoying the ideas presented here. Couldn't you pack a small poncho or tarp and a small cfc pad for double duty as a sit pad and a doggie pad? End up with a light doghouse tarp?
