    Noob Q

Boy and I got Expedition Asym Zipps for Xmas and set them up in the yard yesterday. When you lay in it with the zip on your right shoulder there's a ring with a clipped elastic at your left shoulder as well as a corresponding ring to the right. What's that elastic for?

Not sure, but I think it might be for holding the HH radiant bubble pad in place.

That makes sense. Thanks for the superfast response. We both got bubble pads but did not try them out yet. I'll rehang today and throw the pad in there and confirm.

I use the shock cord to hold back the bug net when I don't want it over me. I'm not sure if this is the intended use, but it works well. Just flip the bug net over the ridge line, pull the shock cord over it, and clip it to the ring on the tie out point in the outside of the hammock. I'm sure there are better uses for it as well.

You can kinda see it in the picture below

Ha! That's funny. I wondered this same thing, and happened to read the front of the stuff sack earlier today: ELASTIC "HOLD OPEN" FOR MESH.

    The suspense is thrilling me!

Aha! I just read my sack another couple times and then flipped it over. It's on the side with the illustration. Sneaky!

First hang. In backyard, with my 9 year old son. Both hammocks under a 12' Noah's tarp. 51° cloudy, rain is likely. I'm staying out here all day and I don't think boy is going anywhere either. Good times.
