    UnderQuilt Rigging

I'm sure this may have been covered before, but I recently got my new quilt and was wondering, how do you rig it? Any and all opinions will be considered. Thanks!

I like to crank my UQ up tight against my hammock to eliminate any air gaps that rob heat. Shug has a terrific series on all things hammocky and he covers UQs extensively:

My method for partial underquilts is to cut 5' of 1/8" shockcord and thread that through channels seen into the sides of the quilt. I attach regular cord to those shockcord ends and go around the end of the hammock. That cord has a cordlock for adjustability. The quilt can slide along the 1/8" shockcord while laying in the hammock to position it correctly. Here's a picture from my gallery.

My 3/4 UQ, just has shock cord on it. I loop that up over the gathered-end of the hammock. It still will slide up and down. I also installed some Dutch Quilt hooks and some loops of elestic band. that way, I can also hook it into place, so it stays.

Just last night I set up the WB hammock and then cliped on the Hammock Gear winter quilt. Just because I bought it here, used, and never set it up (plus we got the first Texas Blue Northen' and the temp went from 65 at noon to like 25 overnight). It came with some S-biners, which clicked onto the whoopies. Very nice. But made me think about ordering Dutch's new UQ clips. A few micro ounces less than the S-biners.
