    That's strikes me as funny somehow. I've spliced lots of rope from 3/8 in. to 3/4 in. but never been able to do braided stuff. I'll grant you it took a lot of effort to learn the regular rope splicing though.

    Yeah you could try burning the end with a lighter, it worked for me and kept it from freying
