Anyone have any experience with sleeping 2 in 1 hammock.

I'm new to this whole hammock thing, (only been on one hang so far and planning on hanging in my garage tonight to test out some equipment) but I've got my wife interested. We have a eno double nest and I'm wondering if it's possible for us both to sleep in in it. What do you think? Is it feasible? If so, any tricks to making it work would be great. We are planning some backpacking trips for the summer and we'd like to save the weight of an extra hammock if we can make do with just 1 for the both of us.

    Thanks!

There are lots of threads about this. Basicly it can't be done, hang two hammock close together is about the best you can do.

for me it's not an option, but I've hiked with couples that have done it. You should try it out for a night and find out

I've never tried and don't really have much interest in trying. From what I hear it's something less than comfortable. It might be doable for a nap but all night might not end well. Start short and work you way up. Who knows, it might work for you.

There are some among us that have hung double and made it work. Canibal did it for a while on the trail with GD. Want to say that was on his AT hike. It's a personal thing if you can make it work.

If you are both fairly sound sleepers and don't move in your sleep and are extremely comfortable being essentially sandwiched together all night. Then you'll likely have little to no problems.

If on the other hand you tend to roll over and shift, even a little, during the night or are light sleepers then dual hammocks is probably your best bet.

It's not impossible, but many don't find it as comfortable as it seems it should be. Good luck on your tests.

For naps maybe, overnight, I think, will prove very uncomfortable. Something to try, if you have the money and really want to sleep two in the same hammock, is the Clark Flex 180: http://www.junglehammock.com/models/flex180/index.php
    or something similar.

It is personal preference, give it a try. My ex and I slept in my WB Blackbird 1.7DL on a dozen different backpacking and car camping trips and we always enjoyed it. She would even join me in the backyard on nights where I was testing gear.

It helped that we are both hobbit sized, enjoyed being cuddled up next to one another, and we are sound sleepers. Also, she was always freezing cold so she appreciated the added body heat.
