SeaToSummit liner coupled with sleeping bag experience?

    http://www.seatosummit.com/products/cat/1

I want to extend/drop the temp rating of my 40F marmot
minimalist sleeping bag (my TQ), and was wondering if
anyone has heard or has experience in coupling such a
system together... They make these liners from +10F all
the way to +25F as rated by the company. Looking to do
my first winter hang in the Allegheny in late December.

    Holla!

I use the Reactor liner. It does add warmth...I am not sure it is 10 degrees?
I do use this item year round (until hot summer). It keeps my hammock and TQ a little cleaner. The liner is really easy to wash.

I use a Swiss Army Surplus fleece liner and tie the drawstring to the ridgeline on a prusik knot. Works great to lower the temp rating on the UQ and as an autumn sleep system.

I use the Reactor Extreme converted to a topsheet in the summer by itself.

Thanks gentlemen. I really appreciate your input. I like the idea of using that fleece blanket as a way to boost the temp rating of the UQ, especially by suspending it via the HRL using a prussik

This was my major problem. A fleece liner is SUPER comfy when fairly open to get in and out of. The downside is those are heavier. I've found the liner (I have the Sea to Summit Reactor) takes a lot of squirming to get in and out of. Feels like I'm sleeping on the ground again . I'd recommend against those personally.

People must have tried opening up the seam of the Reactor. I'm thinking leave a bit of a foot box to orient yourself with. I've heard these complaints about these liners before, and wonder how this would work. Anyone, Bueller?

Opening the seam would work, although I'd want to re sew some reinforcement where the seam pulling stopped. If you like the feeling of that fabric it could be worth it. Otherwise, I find they just don't give enough warmth.

If it were me I'd either make a fleece one for car camping or save for a warmer sleeping bag or top quilt for backpacking. Their warmth/weight rating isn't the greatest.

I turned my Reactor into a topsheet with a footbox. Works just like a top quilt. Although before I did that it wasn't difficult to get in and out of. I did it to cut weight. To get in and out just pull it up to your butt, lay down and lift your butt, slide it past your butt, sit up and bring it up over your shoulders. Bunch up the whole thing as you pull it up, don't pull it by the top.
