    Carabiners

I'm thinking of replacing the steel carabiners with these:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00

I don't like the stock carabiners as there are a lot of sharp edges in the gate. They also weigh less and hold more. My only concern is if they will be ok for the atlas straps. What does everyone think?

By the way, I like the suspension and am not looking to switch over to whoopie slings, just trying to avoid wear on the atlas straps.

    Thanks,
    TripDaddy

I'm using a similar size on my BIAS with the Atlas straps with no problems so far.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

I use the smooth finish mad rocks carabiners from Rei. @5 or 6 $ each. Lite too!

I took my carabiners and the ropes completely out of my DN and used nylon straps and buckles from JRB.

I like the Black Diamond "Neutrino". It's a wire gate, plenty strong and has smooth edges. That said, any climbing rated 'biner is fine.
If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid.

I don't have any pics. I used these straps http://www.jacksrbetter.com/shop/ham...tri-glide-set/ and threaded the looped end through the channels where the rope and binders were and then slipped the free end through the loop. I like this because I can make endless adjustments and there isn't any way to leave something behind by mistake. I really tried to like the ENO straps but returned them for the others.

I like how these adjust. Do they stay in place on the tree when you aren't in the hammock?
