Thanks Darby, you provided an excellent piece of gear to start with. Love my TTTG " Polar Pod " and the " Switchback " is a perfect mate for it.

So, you took a stock Polar pod and added 22 oz of down to it? So now almost double stock? Have you been able to measure loft before and after?

Did no loft measurements. Stock pod allows you to move the down where you want it. By no means is it full to start. Part of the beauty of it to increase the range of temps. Great design. Darby himself has his overstuffed(OS) by 8 oz. Based my OS on Fourdog's. He has a Peapod, w/8channels, that he added 16 oz. to. 2 per channel. Polar Pod is wider and longer w/10 channels, so I added 2 oz. per channel. Had originally ordered with a 2 oz. OS. I did this for a dedicated winter system with minimal fiddle factor and I don't regret it. Beauty of the added suspension is that the down does not migrate and supports top half so it rolls down on itself and creates its own draft tube on the velcro seam. I had frost problems last year w/chimney effect on ends where it was seald for wind, but void of down and along the velcro seam. All in all, I loved it last year for winter camping, but will love it even more this year. Thanks again TTTG.

Took it to Afton State Park, MN. last night . Only got down to 32*. Set it up w/no tarp. About 2am peeked out to find it was extremely windy. couldn't even tell. Got up adjusted a noobie friends uq and went back to sleep. normally wake up every hour on the hour in those situations. Only twice in 9 hours last night. That means restfull sleep. Was wearing light baselayer, light fleece pants, med. wool sweater and socks. Like sleeping on a couch only more comfy. Lets see how low it can go...........I'm a cold sleeper.
