I recently paired the Darien UL with a HG Cuban Fiber tarp with doors - I couldn't resist the Black Friday sale. My complete shelter set up is way less than 2 lbs. and packs down to nothing.

You will appreciate the weight savings and set up simplicity after a 15 mile day. This set up will be a great UL example for scouts who tend to over pack everything.

I'm looking into a HG Cuben tarp, too. The combo of that and the Darien UL is tough to beat for weight, packability, etc.!

It is wonderfully light. I put it on my postal scale and it weighed in at 14.8 oz including the stuff sack and suspension, a scant 0.3 oz over the published weight.

There's a chance I might get some time to take it out to the park and hang it tomorrow. We live in a condo so no backyard trees to play with my hammocks in.

The 6' tree straps seem huge! The ones I've always used are from my Hennessy which I think are 42" or something like that.

If I manage to get out tomorrow, and I can find the camera, and the battery isn't dead, I'll take some photos. I want to try it with my Maccat Deluxe tarp to see how it fits, then I'll know what size HG cuben tarp I need to get for it before this summer rolls around.
