Also added channels on the sides for shock cord to go through. Only problem was now it would not come to my shoulders. So I took my 1/2 10 oz. UQ and added it along with my other UQ.

Now I am set for MN winter. Still need to test over night but a wee nap today felt good and warm ... no cold spots that I could feel. More than likely add a pad as well as I usually do in temps under 10º but will attempt with no pad first. Why not .... indoors is close.
Going to be down to 15º tonight but may snuggle with me wife.
I wish I could get a new UQ, Snugfit or make my own but budget is a bit tight now so I have to have willpower. When that time comes it will save me some ounces but a feller needs to be confident that warmth will not allude him here in the cold North.
Thanks for all the input everyone..... I want a SnugFit!!!

I am glad to hear the Snugfit seems to work! I have ordered the the 40* Snugfit at 40% off. I just couldn't resist the deal.

JRB is taking orders for a 2/3 DUQ.

That is too cool! I was perusing that site today and was looking at that.
I want one for the Blackbird as my full length UQ is just not doing it on the BB. It works perfectly on my DIY Speers style hammock. It was customized to fit it. My 1/2 UQ fits just right on the BB since I put the side channels on the UQ and can slide it back and forth. Than and a pad or 1/2 pad is real warm and comfy.
So I want a SnugFit for the BB. That would more than likely be the charm...
Looks like a great deal but I want the 30º SF for a Minnesota winter. That and a pad... or two in the deep winter.... the -0º s.
The JRB Mt. Washington looks terrific as well. And the temp rating in 0º to 10º and that looks mighty good.
    Hmmmmmmmm?
