Im shocked to see anyone actually uses a shamwow. Those things are awful IMO. I purchased a box to be very unsatisfied. I have since used the Absorber from autozone. Works much better. Carry on.

When I get out of the hammock in the morning, I give the tarp a good shake to get the water off. By the time I finish my breakfast and packing everything else up, the tarp is mostly dry. I then pack it on the outside of my pack to finish drying. Gets hung up at home to make sure it is very dry before putting it in the storage container.

I usually just pull up my stakes, stand at one end, grab a side in each hand and shake it all off. When I get back home I hang it up outside to dry.

No one else dries it with their down underquilt? ....
Like most everyone else, shake as much water off of it in the morning prior to packing it up then set up again that night if still camping. At home I hang it until totally dry before packing for long term storage.
I use two pieces of absorbent cloth so I can wipe both sides at one time while it hangs vertical from the ridgeline. I was surprised at how much surface water weighs, even after shaking the tarp. What's the point of a 6 oz. tarp if you pack it up with 4 oz. of water on it?
yep with a camp towel
