I have a search notification registered at ebay. On the page I was sent to, it was suggested that I might be interested in these.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amsteel-Blue...90730666739%26 ,

just 6' lengths of blue Amsteel Blue 7/64" cord with a fixed eye splice at one end, a back-tuck at the other, and a Youtube video instruction to use them by wrapping the tree and making a marlin spike hitch toggled with a twig.

Now, the interesting thing, to me is that ebay / paypal has sold, at this time, 20 pairs of these of the last two months (in 16 transactions.) Seller has sold about the same number of whoopie sling pairs in the same time.

  • So many hammock users who wouldn't use straps instead?
  • So many hammock hangers who care about weight
  • trust on the basis of this listing the strength of Amsteel,
  • and they're not regular HF members?
