Just received a pair of 10 foot polyester pre-made straps from Strapworks. What a difference from polypropylene! No stretch...and much stronger feeling. Love em.

What did you pay? I love strapworks.
I just went to the site and priced 'em at $3.19 a pop.
I might just have to pull the trigger on a set of these next month.
I orderd some from there and was satisfied but ...
You might want to consider what Dutch offers, pictured here if you read the thread and scoll down a bit: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=59755.
I'd order the Dutch clips but they are designed for a traditional 30* hang and I'm going 90* SLS.
Notice esp. DemostiX's comment. Such good observations and experience on this site.

If memory serves, Dutch's clips and such aren't rated past 350 lbs.
Confirm/deny?
Ayup, just looked, that's what it says alright: http://www.outdoortrailgear.com/featured/dutch-clips/.
But carabiners ought not to be loaded against the gate or they will fail, too. So, you have to run straps through the loop, I guess. That's what I've been doing anyway.
Mike
That's how I do (or comparably on the tie-down straps that I'm using now...running through the eye of the hook).
Ah, the downfall of being a fatty in the woods, lol.
