    MacCat leaks?

Used my MacCat spinn UL in heavy rain for the first time and it leaked all along the ridgeline. Every time a drop hit the apex it splashed right through. Anyone had this experience? The glue along the ridge seam still feels gummy after 1.5 years. Have written to Brian 3 times but no answer. Is he still around? Thanks all.

I have a MacCat Deluxe in Spin and have not had that issue. Then again the rain that I had it in probably was not as heavy as what you experienced. I'll see if I can pitch it in my yard this weekend and hit it with the garden hose and report back.

Have you tried to seam seal it?

No experience with that tarp, and no disrespect to Brian, but his comm skillz are borderline infamous. You may or may not get a response from him... its a complete dice roll. I'm sure you could just seam seal the RL with some silicone thinned with mineral spirits, or THIS STUFF as pointed out by Flatline in a recent thread.

I've had my OES Spinn Standard in heavy all day rain and it was fine.

I'm not sure if seam sealing has a shelf life. It's an interesting thought. Sounds like you'll have to reseal it. Spinn might be more moody with sealant.

Thanks guys, very helpful. The original sealant is still sticky, hasn't changed in 1.5 years. Do I have to take it off first? Or just paint over it?
