I know this is an old thread, but, nevertheless I have questions.
I was wondering how you managed to use a sewing machine with that Climashield Apex as the bottom layer (or as the top layer with the whole works inverted for that matter). I have the Climashield Apex cut to size and that stuff clings to EVERYTHING. I'm not kidding, I walked around barefoot and it clung to my very rough feet, I had to stop and put socks on. I'm almost certain that if I tried (or, truth be told, had my grand-daughter try) to sew it with a machine, we'd end up with a shredded mess. Any hints or suggestions?
One option is to cut the one of the nylon layers about 1-1/2" larger all around. Then when you sew, lap that extra material over the Climashield. That way only the nylon is touching the feed dogs or the presser foot. The unruly Climashield edge is sandwiched between the nylon.

I didn't do anything when I built two. The feed dogs fed the climashield just fine. The only problem I ran into is make sure you leave at least a 1" hem of ripstop. If you don't the climashield wraps up and over the ripstop shell when the presser foor compresses it. The foot loves to grab the climashield then and make a tangled mess.
So long as the climashield stays completely on the bottom it's fine. Try running a sample thru firSt.
