I'd like to thank ya'll for being so welcoming to me, a first time hanger. It was great meeting everyone and I really enjoyed our talks around the campfire.
Highlights for me:
*Locking my keys in my truck shortly after arriving, then spending the better part of the evening trying to break into my truck, to no avail. (With no cell coverage and just a coat hanger plus a few other tools)
*Gary letting me borrow a hoodie, plus TQ & UQ and Kate letting me borrow a hammock to sleep in that night!
*Finally having "Plus One" break into my truck using my antennae, some duct tape and a tent peg the following morning!
*Sleeping like a baby both nights and realizing I might be in love with hammock camping!
*Winning a one of a kind (well, actually one of a two of a kind) hammock from UK Hammocks in the raffle!!! It's made of spinnaker cloth and weighs NOTHING!!! It's also my first hammock. I feel pretty good about that!
I'm looking forward to future hangs and getting out on a backpack soon with my new hammock!
great hang!
1st, thanks to the vendors who donated such incredible gear! wow.
quilts, hammocks, accessories, gift cards --- the raffle topped off great friends, comfortable hammocks and gorgeous scenery.
night 1 was clear and cold, 28F.
things mellowed out the next 2 nights, hovering between 37 - 42F.
but the days were mild and sunny - 75 - 80F. lovely.
scott lake campground worked out perfectly, and housed 15 hangers spread along and around the lake. i was in the speer "dinosaur" hammock with HG quilts.
plenty of hiking & kayaking, big views, no "sisters mosquitoes", lava fields and a lot of DUST! bgray and i hiked southbound on the PCT, meeting a few thru-hikers and hearing some interesting tales from their first 2000 miles.
jokes were plentiful and the fires memorable. thanks to all who came and made this a great trip.

DOWNTOWN BROWN!!!!
WoW what can I say about the hang...Frankly it was amazing. Being new to the hanging "thing" it was nice to see other's set ups, and gear and to learn more in one weekend then I ever thought I could {especially with livin with BF} AND to know other girls have some of my same concerns and issues as I do. I look forward to learning more and cutting BF's gear $$ in half
I also want to say it was so nice to finally meet those I have heard so much about and all the new faces some had never met before. I will remember the laughter, jokes, stories and now the faces to all the names of new friends I met.
I too want to thank all the Vendors for their extremely generous donations. While in hard times it is nice to see there are so many of you who love the Hanging community enough to donate to us...I from the bottom of my heart thank you all.
I also want to say to my most amazing hubby Bigfoot...Wow hun thank you, your are so wonderful to do everything you did to make sure we all had a really nice time, cheers to you. {I'll help for next year } Rip thanks for calling out the prizes, Drew pulling the names, Kayt for the pictures, and Gary for being so generous on many levels; thanks everyone you made the weekend not only a success but supper fun.
Finally, I look forward to being more active here on the forums, maybe organizing some girl hangs (Hanging Ta-Ta events?) and in general getting outside and experiencing for myself all I have only seen in pictures and stories.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and spending time with you all. Thank you. The company was just as refreshing and beautiful as the setting. It was alot of fun to share and compare setups.
Thank you to the fine gentlemen organizers. Your efforts to order T-Shirts, contact vendors, research sites etc...really enhanced the experience.
Thank you to the AMAZING VENDORS who donated quality gear to a quality cause. Your generosity warms my cockles.
(PS Don't forget about Rip's t-shirt offer; 5 of us together = awesome shirt of remembrance.)
