    Need a knot!

I need a knot as I have and E.D.C hammock which has single amsteel lines at each end so I have been wrapping the amsteel round whatever anchors I can use usually the ties in the truck and tying it back to itself with a bowline with a slippery release. When I use this method the knot really tightens up and it can be very hard sometimes even painful to jerk the single release is there anything better I could use short of an alpine butterfly and carabiner?

If it's amsteel then just make it into a whoopie sling.

The ferrimond hitch is really easy. The other plus is that you do not have to keep slacking the "tail" of the line around around. Works well if you are carrying long cordage but need to but the hitch near the middle of the lineImageUploadedByTapatalk1345563712.442327.jpg

YW. Just remember as with any "slipped" knot or hitch. Make sure you check that you have enough slack on the hitched side or drop the tail in to help keep it from working lose

Just remember the slicker the cordage the more wraps you need

I wonder if the hennessey figure 8 backed up with a slipppery half hitch would work? Would be easy to tie and untie. Should hold.
