Sil side on the underside or the top?

Hi, all! I've got my silnylon tarp all measured and marked and I'm ready to start pinning it for sewing. But I'm not sure if the sil side should end up on the outside or the underside of the finished product. Does it matter? Advice appreciated! Thanks!

If its true SilNylon then the silicone is in the fabric so there shouldn't be a "sil-side". If its a coated tarp then the the water proof coating should go on the outside/top of the tarp.

Thanks, Catavarie. I bought it at a funky fabric warehouse where nothing is really labeled. I've never had my hands on "real" silnylon so I didn't realize that it wasn't just coated fabric. I thought it seemed awfully heavy. Doh! I'm sure it will function very well but I'll probably pass it on to my kiddo and make myself something lighter down the road. I appreciate you helping me to get a clue.

its probably poly coated sil. i have a poly coated sil campmor tarp and it works well to keep the rain out. also no splash through like you can get with true sil/ny. yes heavier, but i am not a long distance guy so right now its not a big deal to me. have fun with your diy.
