    Any interest still?

Hi all, I have only been hanging for a couple weeks now (well only one car camp trip so far) but I was searching for any posts on Idaho. I came across this thread and saw it has been awhile since last discussed. I was wandering if any body was still interested in doing a hang out this way. Looking at the google map it dose look like there are a good number of folks this side of the country but as also earlier mentioned we are all spread out. Of corse I like Cannibals original thought of Hells Canyon 1 cause its close 2 cause even though I grew up in SW Idaho I have never gone over there(just so much to see here.) But If the coast was still the consensus I might be up depending on dates or more freely if I could hitch a ride with somebody on their way through. It looks like there are several folks in the Denver/front range area and a few in the SLC area. If I could not make it to the coast I would love to get together with those that are headed through on the way, grab a beer maybe hang for the night. From Denver to Boise is a good solid day of driving and there are lots of places not far out of the way to camp for the night. I may also be able to get a buddy to join up, I have been talking to him about hammocks and he is still a bit on the fence. Plus the weather is finally turning nice up this way Maybe in June?

How would Hell's Canyon be for hanging?

    probably great

But there are lots of forests close to that as well. I love up around McCall which is just a short way form that general area. here is a couple photos from Ponderosa State Park from a day trip we took up there last spring.

    And the Summer Before

I know that Some of Hells canyon is more High sparse desert but there is a lot of mountains in that area.

To be honest I don't think that if a person pulled into any campground in the mountains and picked a site at random that anybody would have a problem getting at least a couple of hammocks hung. And with a little planning I do not see a problem with a larger group getting enough space to hang everyone comfortably. There are lots of trees available out this way.

    Me? An instigator? Nah.

Honestly, my summer is pretty packed right now. The only time I'd even be able to consider it would be late August forward. Fairly flexible after that.

HMM, My Anniversary is the 30th of August and my 5 yr old starts Kindergarden the week before and the week after a buddy and I are planning 100 miles on the Idaho Centennial Trail. We are planning on 10 days or so for that- slow so we can enjoy our selves and relax and fish at some of the high lakes in the Sawtooths. Other than that the only other thing I have is a friend is going to be having his wedding on the 4th of July.
