    WTB: 50 feet of Amsteel

I need about 50 feet of 7/64" Amsteel for my bridge hammock. It's pretty spendy to buy that small of a quantity at the local marine shops ($1.10/ft!! ) or online with the shipping, so I'm hoping maybe one of you guys have some laying around you might be able to part with.

Redden and the like want at least $6 to ship the stuff, adding 50% to the total cost, when it could be shipped USPS ground for less than $3 I'm pretty sure.

If - if he stood! Enough of ifs!
He knew a path that wanted walking
He knew a spring that wanted drinking
A thought that wanted further thinking.
    A love that wanted re-renewing

I betcha shipping from Arrowhead Equipment would be much less, and I know shipping from DIY Gear Supply would be less - should be around $2.50 or so.

Contact Paul at AHE. He can probably ship you some via usps first class.

Thanks Scott and Bubba for the mention. My guess would be that Scott at DIY would be a little quicker when it comes to shipping time being on your side of the country. I am sure someone close to you has 50' handy though too.

I don't think Redden Marine has a branch for the yachts in Beaver Falls, PA.

Nothing special about Brick, NJ except proximity to a bay and the the population of boats, so I ride there and can furnish you from stock or easily replenish.

Gladly, too, if you can help me out with my over-supply of 1mm black polyester hollow braided cord that splices like a dream where you get everything you want and none of it disappears when you wake up. And /or Chuck-It for your tarp guy lines.

    PM me.

But, I'll take a minute to repeat in this forum: Mailing of even light things has become expensive as the USPS interprets "Flats", including large first class mailing envelopes VERY STRICTLY. If I had not just put together a winder to flat-coil cordage and hopefully meet the requirement for FLAT, or pay package rate, I couldn't mail to you with the package rate premium AND delivery confirmation for less than $5 either. Time to think about pooling purchases and combining trips.

Or trust me (and USPS), waive Delivery Confirmation, and accept the uninsured risk of a lost parcel to save $1.

    PM me.

As I recall you can contact Redden directly via email and they willl quote a smaller price for amsteel shipping. Their shipping calculator does not include flat rate box pricing. 50 ft of amsteel easily fits in an envelope or small box.
