Hennessy Explorer and Hex Fly In Same Snake Skins?

Looking at getting the Hex Fly and was curious if it will fit in the same snake skins as the hammock like the standard fly?

I have the explorer deluxe and it will not fit in the same snake skin as the hex fly. I find the best way to pack it up is to stuff the hammock in the sack with no snakeskin. I use the snakeskin on the tarp only. It's nice to have if you want the tarp out of the way while hanging too.

This question has been asked many times. I'd suggest you get in the habit of packing them separately. If you ever need the tarp (ie., it rains) you don't want to pack up a wet tarp with your hammock. Spend another $20 and get another set of snakeskins for your tarp. There are cheap diy snakeskin alternatives that have also been discussed on this forum if you search and read.

Wet snakeskins equal wet tarp AND hammock. For that reason, I've never considered it.

For about a decade I have rolled a Hennessy explorer ultralight and a hex tarp in XL snake skins. With careful rolling, I never had a wet hammock.

I prefer my Hhammock in the skins and the tarp in a sack. This way if I need to cook or do stuff under the tarp the Hhammock is not in the way.

I'm the exact opposite. I prefer my tarp in skins, and my hammock in separate skins or in it's own bag. I like being able to put the tarp up but not unfurl it if the weather is nice...but having it up and ready to unfurl and stake down at a moment's notice if the weather suddenly changes. If I'm out by myself...I will often sit in my hammock while doing camp chores such as cooking. If the weather is nice...hammock is a chair, and tarp is rolled up in the skins ready to deploy.

Thanks for the input all. After playing with the fly, I think I like the little bag it came in. At least for now.

I snake skin my hex fly by itself and use the bag it came in. Is a tight fit, but works great. I Also use a continuous ridge line on the tarp. I made the bag my hammock came in, into a bishop style bag. Works great! I use Dutch cinch bugs on the hammock, ease of use and weight. And store those separate, incase they get wet.
