I have never ordered from DIY Gear Supply but I know from his reputation on the forum that you will not be disappointed by either the quality of the product or service if you do order from him.
thank you however i was wondering the quality on the "2nds" they are about 1/2 price however the description says there maybe cosmetic damage but i do not know if tHE quality of the water proofing is the same
I've ordered the grey silnylon 2nds from DIY Gear two times and haven't found a reason to call it 2nds. Lots of forum members have reported the same experience.
That will work just fine! I always use seconds.

Scott's fabric is all good quality stuff. The 2nds may or may not be "defective". Sometimes the fabric manufacturer labels a roll as 2nds because it may be a short run, or the color isn't quite right, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the fabric. In the past, he has stated on the website what/if any the defect is in the 2nd quality material. His 1st quality stuff is really nice fabric. I made a winter tarp out of the olive brown.
Contact him direct if you have questions. He's always been very helpful with me.
Thanks everyone for the help.
I just orders some navy seconds and the only defect was a blotch of extra silicon about 1 inch by 6 inches. I sent Scott (sclittlefield) a pm asking about the current 2nds inventory and he replied very quickly with a run down of the current stock. Here is what he told me:
I have seen one single weaving flaw (nothing that would be a problem in a tarp) in the last few thousand yards of sil2nds Gray, so I'm guessing that's what's causing the mill to deem the gray 2nds. Beyond that, I have found no flaws at all.
In the Navy, I have yet to find a flaw.
I give a big thumbs up on DIY Gear Supply.
