Red River Gorge in Daniel Boone National Forrest

My dad and I went on a weekend trip to Red River Gorge in Kentucky. This was the first time since I was a boy that him and I had taken a trip together. So this was kid of a special trip for me. It was also the most beautiful place I had ever been. The first night we though we were on a trail but it was't one. We basically bushwacked in and found a spot and camped. That was cool. We dont get to do stuff like that in our area. The hike in basically wore us out so we rushed to set up camp before dark. By the time we had done that and gathered wood and built a fire we both decided to crash. On the way out my dad did something to his knee so it limited the hiking for the rest of the weekend. Overall it was a great trip. I'll be bringing my girls here in the fall or later this summer.

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.

Thanks for the trip report! The tunnel was a great was to enter the NP. It’s the first video I’ve seen of a hanger in that national park. It looks like a real wilderness area. Oh and, that was one heck of a spoon, a super scooper!

Tell me more about your modified TB Tracker or is it a Tracker?
I've got the large model-rarely ever used, but I carry the mini TB Tracker
    almost daily.
