Was not sure if it would be better to post this here or in DIY... Please move if appropriate.....
I am using some 1500lb Walmart rachet straps for my hammock, and currently tying Bowline knots to prevent slippage. I was wondering if anyone has experience with these slides:

Or something similar as an adjustment point. They look fairly solid, and I Think they would be safe, but will defer to experiences here if somebody has tried something similar. Good thing is I can get them cheap locally.... but they don't have a weight rating. They are however stainless steel, and fairly thick (perhaps as thick as a nickel or two) and feel very solid in the hand.
I would run the strap through the buckle once, then through the attachment rope or caribiner in the end of the hammock, then through the buckle a second time, and finish with a half hitch behind it as a safety knot. Thought folks?
Thank you!
