    Oh no, another addiction ...

I realized on my last tent camping trip that I'm just getting too darn old to spend the night on the cold, damp ground. Even the Thermarest isn't helping like it used to ...

And then I stumbled upon hammock camping, Shug's introductory videos, the Professor's stuff, and man, this looks cool! I've read a bit, and now I'm obsessed.

On the plus side, it might keep me from buying more camping knives and titanium cook pots and surfboards (yeah, a wise purchase for someone 300 miles from the Gulf). Now I have a whole new world of stuff to study, sample and drool over.

Been stumbling around the forums for a couple of days and noticed a lot of great info and a great attitude from all concerned. Looks like you have a cool community here, and I'm eager to be a part of it.

    best,
    Mike

Thanks for the kind welcomes. What a ton of information around here, but so much to learn.

Maybe I just need to go to REI on Friday, pick up one of the ENO doublenests on sale and get going. Dive right in!

I knew it would be addicting!

Welcome from SC. And by God what ever you do don't go to a group hang....Cause all the shiny things will be on your shopping list, and the wife will look at you all weird asking "How many of _______ do you need?" I mean how do you even respond to that?
Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.

Well, MBC, I just have everything sent to the office, sneak it in when no one is looking and then when I'm finally cornered say, 'What, that old thing? I've had it forever."

    Sometimes it even works!

Of course, a hammock might be tougher to hide.
