I need some help. I've got one tree that I'd like to hang from. What or how can I set up so I can hang with just one tree?
The details, I am renting this house so that limits me. So nothing permanent, would like something I could take down, and keep it simple. There is actually two trees almost perfect distance apart, a little on the far side but the home owner put a shed right between them.
Any ideas?

Look in the diy section at the turtle lady stand. Or there are a few others. I have hung from one trees and the roof rack on the van.

You can bolt 2 poles together at the tops like an A-frame. Make sure it is the proper height at top. Attach your hammock at the top on one side. On the other side run a strong line to an anchor in the ground, or a car or anything else that will counterbalance your weight
I just tried an image search on google. There is an outfit called "Madera hammock stands" that has something similar for sale, but real easy to make once you see the pics
