ENO bugnet on Bridge Hammock

I have been making bugnets since I think the turn of the century! I have been thinking about a way to use one for all the bridges I have, and I won't have to put that troublesome Omni or Velcro all over everything. Here are the pictures of the first draft. I think I will be able to cut some weight and bulk by cutting off the two ends and making slits to go over the two suspension webbings coming from the spreader bars and Omni tape them together to close both sides. It is easy to get in and out of, much easier than the one that came with my BMB or the one I made, even with zippers on them. Suggestions are welcome. Mule

Oh that's the ticket... I would make my own though, and put the zipper horizontally on the side (or on both sides.) Looks great!

I always thought I'd have to take a knife to the Eno bugnet
to make it work with a bridge.

Yes, it would have been much easier to make it from scratch rather than graft everything in, but the bugnet I had to buy at Joannes was $8 a yard. That little mod cost me about $30. To make one from scratch would take about $60 in fabric. I am going to look around on the net for some cheaper bugnet, only thing is, I want lightweight stuff. The ENO stuff is heavy. Yes, I had to buy three yards and graft it in the front and back. Better to make one from scratch, easier and lighter. Mule

I second the horizontal zipper idea. I like that a lot on mine. Another thing to consider is going over the ridgeline thingy instead of hanging down. A little simplier and easier. Plus then you can hang things from the ridgeline. You could look into a rectangle shape without any taper on the ends.

I made my first bugnet in alt 7, well worth the extra coverage. I was thinking about making a version with the netting attached to the top of the hammock to save weight. But I like it going all the way around with room for my to lounge and move around too much. Probably would only shave 4 or 5 oz. Shortening the zipper would shave some. I used a #5, going to a #3 would save a little. I like the extra duriblity and size of the larger zipper.

This bugnet is now 17 ounces. I can live with that. I personally really like the vertical zipper. I had horizontals in all my Claytor and clones, this is cool because you can set down and you don't even stress the bugnet at all.
I also made a shot of the the rubber ends I put on the spreader bar ends to keep from $(&#@$$ up my tarp and the bugnet. Here are some photos.
