    need help picking a tarp....

Im new to the overnight hammock camping scene, so before that, Ive used a military poncho as shade. Since Ive upgraded to an ENO SingleNest, the poncho is too small. I dont really care about weight, but what I do want is coverage. 200 is about my price cap. Thanks for your help.

We use the Hennessy Hex fly. not the lightest out there but gives good coverage and is not going to break the bank.

Knowing what I know now when I bought my first tarp, I probably would have chosen a Warbonnet Superfly or a Mamajamba depending if I wanted doors or not. I just really like the proportions of the Superfly even though it's a bit weighty. Plenty of other great tarps makers out there, I tend err to on the side of more coverage for foul weather.

You might want to look at the ogee tarp.. Very versatile..

I would recomend the Tadepole by Wilderness Logic. It has great coverage and weighs almost nothing and the price is right....

Wilderness Logics has the Big Daddy for $90 on the monthly special. Plenty of coverage. Great customer service and you will get your tarp fast.

    Hey 475068350,

Check out the Toxaway Tarp from Arrowhead Equipment here on the Forum. I love mine.
    Take care,

All of the tarps mentioned thus far are available in silynlon. Also you don't need to spend $200 to get a quality light tarp. In reality any of the tarps available from the vendors on this site will do the job for you.

    Cheers

For $200, you can get about any sil tarp, a continuous ridgeline kit, and a set of the best guylines with tensioners, and probably keep a few dollars. All the tarps mentioned have good reputations, although I can speak personally for AHE's tarps.
We are now ready to start our way down the Great Unknown. We are three quarters of a mile in the depth of the earth. We have an unknown distance yet to run, an unknow river yet to explore. What falls there are, we know not; what rocks beset the channel, we know not; what walls rise over the river, we know not. Ah, well! We may conjecture many things. The men talk as cheerfully as ever; jests are bandied about freely this morning; but to me the cheer is somber and the jests are ghastly. Powell 1869
