Great to see the pics and I'm happy to hear you all had a great time. I grew up in Pennsylvania, and my family had a cabin just south of Laurel Lake, which is near where you all were. The pics made me remember those days fondly. Thank you, and I hope to join you all one of these days.
"No whining in the woods"
Great pictures [o]TTeR!
The picture of the kids making huge bubbles & blowing dandelions is contest worthy for sure.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
Thanks Slowhike, shots like that are a matter of being in the right place & time with a camera, Murphy (Dude with all the laws) must have been napping because I had my camera at the time? The shot of Trasher is also getting lots of hits on Flickr, Ben is a popular Dog!
Side Note: As it turns out, the "shrine" is likely a small/young Raccoon, I looked it up out of curiosity and this is closest to the shape: Procyon lotor... It wasnt an "Arnuki Beast" so my guess was wrong

Yea, great pictures for sure! Thank-you for sharing! Quite a number of family members and Facebook friends have said they are going to keep that shot or make a hard copy of ben, ( Trasher ). I wish I was as well liked as my dog!
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.
Otter, those pics are awesome. My son Noah was forming that bubble and you captured the moment perfectly. Funny conversation about nicknames we had on the way home. He hung out with "pyro" (the little girl in the pic) a lot and decided he wanted a nickname. He came up with "fish-boy". Yup, looks like next time he'll have an official nickname. Thanks again for the name tags. Good times. It was good to put faces to all the names here on the forum.
Normally I do a trip report but I was zoning out this whole trip. I did take some pics, however.
The skunk cabbage that seemed to attract the kids' attention.
I didn't set my hammock up by the river, I set it up IN the river. The guyline tie-outs were tied around a rock and placed in the stream. I slept like a baby listening to the babbling brook. Very nice.
Dayhikers Firefly, BobMac, abharris, John, & MML at the lookout on Sunset Rocks.
BobMac showing off a vintage ultralight thermos at Sunset Rocks.
MML strikes a pose like Madonna.
Trail name? I don't need no stinking trail name. Abharris leads the way.
Springtime! for BobMac! and Germany!
Flannel rocks! Sweetbabyd expected Babe the Blue Ox to bring up the rear at any moment.
Buh-duh, buh-duh, buh-duh - that's all folks.
Due to MaHha, I now have no more savings. Too much gear.......must resist.
Silversurfr,
That vintage lightweight thermos would accompany an "ultralight" Swedish Military cookset nicely!
