Looks just like the 3 I built. They work great.

Looks great! How long is your ridgepole? Also, what height did you cut the lumber? I'm considering making one of these, and I was thinking 13'-14' feet would be good for the ridgepole, and cutting the lumber to 6'5" poles.

Anyone know how to find the thread of the total number of TD stands that have been built?

I don't think there is one, but maybe a poll or something could help resolve that.

Is there a consolidated suppliy list for the Turtle Stand, somewhere? I want to run to store and get everything but don't have time to dig through 2000 postings.
    Thx!

I found someone else's parts list and used it.

    2x2 studs (6.5' long) (6)
    5/16" X 2" bolts (8)
    5/16" fender washers (8)
    5/16" nuts (8)
5" heavy duty gate hinges (2)
    Shackles (2)
10.5' top rail (get 2 and cut to desired length)
    Chain
    Carabiners (2)
    550 paracord

I forgot to add the 2 eye bolts with matching nuts and washers to that list. That's what a lot of people use for attaching the ridge pole to the stands. Personally, I opted for chain link gate hinges instead of the eye bolts.

rweb82, I cut the fence rail poles into 6'-6" sections to create a 13' long ridge pole. They fold up nicely with the 6'-6" legs and the 13' pole provides ample length for my HH Typhoon tarp, which is quite long (but nice in wet, windy weather). I would not go any shorter than 6'-6" for the legs unless you like a sit height shorter than 18". Of course a lot of that depends on your particular hammock. I am using ENO single and doublenest hammocks with 24" +/- of rope for the attachment to the pole at each end with a 30 degree hang angle.

Thank you! I have a Dream Hammock Raven- which has a 110" ridgeline. I was leaning towards a 13' or 14' ridgepole, but I wasn't really sure on the length of the legs. Ive noticed a lot of folks cut the legs to 6'- which seemed a little short to me.
