Is there any (compression?) load on the eye bolts from the pole, that the tripods help neutralize by being inside the eye bolts?
I can't tell from the pix but it seems like the tripods are aligned to whatever position is needed to support the ridge pole. I would have thought they would be in some kind of alignment with the ridge pole - no?
I really like the idea of the shortened tripods. Do you know of any "issues" with these vs. the longer tripods other than irregularities in the ground you're hanging over?
Thanks for the reply.
