    ENO Guardian Bugnet "Spreader"?

I'm fairly new to this forum, and to hammock camping, so I want to get some advise from all of you guru-types here. I'm having a (cross my fingers) minor issue, and in looking through the past threads here, I'm hoping I can get some guidance to fix it...

I have an ENO Onelink system (Doublenest hammock, Guardian Bugnet, Dry Fly Tarp), and have gone on several hangs and absolutely LOVE the comfort and convenience. The one issue I have is that the bugnet drapes down from the top ridgeline and contacts the side of the hammock. I tend to spread out a little when sleeping, and as such my arm generally comes in contact with the bug net, and I get mosquito bites at that contact point.

Has anyone had any similar issues with this? Is this something Permethrin would solve? I had envisioned possibly having a "spreader bar" that would push out the bugnet under the hammock to move the screen away from touching the hammock. Is this necessary?

This is an excellent forum, and I've already gotten a lot of help in just reading the past threads. Thanks to everyone who put this together and to those sharing their experiences!

    Subscribed to this one..

I have been contemplating a DIY bugnet solution for a while, but the Spring is half way over and next trip out I will require a net - so I used my REI dividend to get the Guardian net.

Interested in seeing if anyone has a solution..

Clip it to your rain fly or prop it open with walking sticks.

Maybe guy them out with some shock cord. You can sew some tabs on the sides or use grips clips. Even just a button on the inside and tie some shock cord around the button on the outside and stake it out. You could use regular cordage but shock cord allow some give with changing tension.

sorry for bringing up a dead post but I have been thininking of getting my hands on one of those airframe dealy o's that come in the nemo gogo tent. I think it would have a ton of potential in the hammock world. Just dont know where to find one .

I have Grip clips on my tarp, one in each quarter panel. I had thought of getting 2 of Dutch's Clip on Tarp Pullouts to pull the sides of my bug net out and away from my hammock. I decided to use Dutch's clips rather than the Grip clips because I felt the Grip clips had a higher chance of tearing the bug net. Just a thought.
