Problems with skeeter beater travel hammock?

My brother inlaw on his first time with his new travel hammock sat down and watched it rip down the seam of the zipper.

My netting ripped on my travel hammock on its second use.

Is this common for anyone else?

I've only got a handful of hangs in my SB Pro and so far no problems. Sorry to hear of your situation.

Did you purchase direct from Travel Hammock or another reseller? I'd definitely contact the seller and see about exchange or Return.

Same thing happened to my dad on his first use. Was pretty disappointed. I took some rip stop nylon and repaired the tear, then reinforced the edges of the zipper. I was also disappointed that the tarp bought from travel hammock also did not have the ridge line seam sealed properly. Not sure I'll buy from them again. I also went ahead and reinforced the zipper/netting on my brother's, father-in-laws and my own to hopefully prevent future failure.

    I had troubles too

On my second hang with the Skeeter Beeter, the end of the zipper came loose of the bug netting. I have no sewing capability, so I am looking for another alternative at this point (the bugs up here are too much to have any hole in the bug netting).

my SB also had a hole form where the zipper ends. It looked like it could easily spread so I bartacked it back to the zipper. No issues since.

No problems with my SB that I know of. Guess I'd better check it! My daughter has hung in it about 5 nights so it's probably time for its 5000 mile checkup...

Got the SB Pro, the zipper came away from the hammock when I climbed in with my sleeping bag. This in turn tore the bug net. I wrote an email to Travel Hammock, and they wrote me back right away assuring me that they would replace it, and apologising for any trouble. We'll see if they stay true to their word.

I was having a look at where the mosquito netting is (was) attached to the hammock, and it's only single stitched, and the stitching around the ends of the zipper is kinda sketchy.........
