    Retrofitted my DIY hammock

I did away with my Whoopie's and replaced them with WBBB webbing.

I also added Warbonnet style tie-outs

Then using knotty's tutorial I retrofitted it to a stretch side. I sewed in button holes to feed the shock cord through.

Don't laugh at my poor sewing skills, time will tell if it holds.

Looks good. You'll love the speed and ease of use of the straps and buckles. My project for tomorrow is to add stretch sides to one of my hammocks. Have you tried it yet? Thoughts?

Thanks. I finished it this afternoon so I've only layed in it to test it. I can say that it did form some what of a foot box and it takes the floppyness out of the sides for sure.

Great job man. The next step to my hammock will be the side pulls and then adding a bug net, I like the warmth bug netting holds and it helps cut wind a bit.

Regarding weight, what is the difference between the whoops and strap system. Seems like the straps would be bulkier?

    Thanks Streamline,
I haven't weighed them but the straps are a little bulkier. For me, I like the straps better than the WS's, I'm sure I am probably in the minority.

Everything you did looks great, sure to add to your enjoyment. FWIW straps are my choice as well.

I would love to see how the stretch sides work out. I get the idea of using them to take up the flop in the sides but would love to see how they work to form a bit of a foot box.
