Nice pics on that mod. I've been using my SBP without a ridgeline for a few years. I enjoy it quite a bit, but after finding this I think I'll play around with the SRL through the net. HiBRiD, when you attached it to the gathered end, did you just loop it through, or did you circle around the gathered end?

I used an eye splice on the one end around the continuous loop. The other end is just looped around the opposite-end continuous loop and back to the adjustable bury. Sometimes if I want the netting opened wider I use a Nite Ize 18" gear tie as a spreader just on the head end.

Here is the eye splice around the continuous loop end.

Nice job on the ridgeline. Did the same thing, I also ran some shockcord between all four net loops to reduce the sag in the net when your in the hammock.

Skeeter Beater Pro with internal ridgeline

Does the internal ridgeline put any load on the bug net?

I was looking at doing something similar but I thought I would rip it

As long as your ridgeline is no shorter that 104-5" (83%) I have not had any issue. There is still some excess netting that if it bothers you can be tied with shock cord or use a V spreader. Luckily the bug net was designed to be large enough and have a good amount of stretch to be flipped over and used with out it.

Just wanted to check in and say that this mod was super easy and super worth it.

Also, my ridgeline is definitely shorter than 104" and it is still not bearing any load, so there is no risk of tearing.

I will obviously remove the line from this side if I'm flipping the hammock over.

Good to hear you finished it. It is really worth it, the mod makes laying in it much better and adds functionality for holding the net up and allow you to hang items inside the netting.
