Instead of sewing, would it be possible to the sandwich the bug net between the webbing with superglue?

I would not use superglue. I have seen it harden the fabric then crack. You should be able to find some fabric glue at a craft store though.

I did a very crude sew by hand it's worked like a gem although there is a ton of bug net on this hammock I think I'm going to try and mod it to be something similar to what arrowhead sells

Just finished my mod this evening. Had this thread tagged for quite a while, but always came back to it.

    Thanks for the post, OP.

Skeeter Beater was my first hammock and I did this mod. Works great!

So with all the mods, how much weight was saved on this 30-oz single-layer hammock? For comparison, my DL is about 22 oz w bugnet and whoopie suspension. Just wonderng if it's worth to take advantage of the Amazon deal right now.

    Thanks.

In all actuality, the only modification is knowing where to put the holes to run a ridgeline inside of the net. Make the ridgeline detachable like I did, & you can either leave it at home or use it when you flip the hammock over (not using the net).

I'm just guessing that the 30 oz also includes the factory lashing, straps, & hooks; things that would likely get swaped out anyways. (They do need it.)

Basically, a better way to look at this mod would be to say it shows you where to put the two small holes when running a ridgeline inside of the net. It's a great fix Grizz came up with.

So, if I'm reading this right, everybody is tying a short length of line to the suspension and running it through the net and then tying the ridgeline to that? Is that the same on both ends? Is anyone just using one cord for the entire length? And what cord are you using?

    Thanks!!

That's exactly what I did, Kat. The cord I used is some type of OD Green cordage we keep at work, but I'll more than likely change it out later. (Only used it for for the trial run.) Not sure of the specs of it; it's just some military stuff with an NSN.

I've actually been meaning to post pics of how I ran mine. Two pigtails running into the netting, with a detachable ridge line clipped to each of them.
