I've been toying with sewing velcro cable ties into the ridge of the bug netting to allow me to leave the net unzipped but still pull it up out of the way so it's not hanging in my face.maybe two or three along the ridge would do. Because the netting is sewed across the gathered end of the hammock I'm not able to just flip back over itself and it stay.

yeah I like that idea. I would put a tab of grossgrain on the inside, sew the the cable through the netting to it. Maybe a tab of grossgrain on the outside too if the cable tie is narrow. That netting is insubstantial stuff!

resurrecting an old thread - have an interest in adding a structural ridgeline to my SBP - I don't know that I have the skills to sew add ons like the grosgrain ribbon. Is it possible to add the ridgeline on top of the bugnet? Or alternatively - instead of grosgrain perhaps use a square of tenacious tape, a piece attached on either side of the bugnet?

Through the loops? Can you clarify? Funny that this thread was brought up so recently, I am in the same boat as HesNot. Wondering if it's worth my time to attempt something like this. (I know it seems very simple to most people here, but my sewing skills are nonexistent.)

You don't have to sew it. He tied the shock cord to one end of the hammock. Ran it up the length of the hammock, feeding it though the loops as he went. Then he ried it off to the other end

Thats like the method I've been using.
I run one shock cord line through all 4 loops for the bugnet.
Each end of the shock cord has a loop with a tautline hitch in it.
Each T-hitch loop has a mini S-Biner on it.
I take the S-biner and run it around the tree and hook it back onto the shock cord line on one side.
Then I take the other side and run it around the other tree and hook it back onto the shock cord on the other side.
Then I adjust the t-hitches on each side to take up as much slack as needed to raise the bugnet off of my face...but still have room to stretch when I move around inside the hammock.

Just got a ARL from whoopieslings.com the other day to put on my sbpro. No sewing skills so was thinking about duct tape instead of the grosgrain.

Did this earlier this year on a yukon outfitters bugnet hammock. My sewing skills suck but it turned out pretty good. Well worth the effort
