Many people seem to use ratchet straps from Harbor Freight. They just cut the ratchets and sew loops. Hardware stores carry all kind of ratchet straps as well. The ones I have seen here in Canada do not say what they are made of but maybe some of the ones in your local store will.

If you've got a sports chalet, the one close to me has webbing. Buy it by the foot.

Just be careful if it's the tubular webbing for climbing it will stretch, that stuff's nylon.

I have a close out fabric store that carries it, of course its one of those strange stores that seems to have everything you are looking for as long as you ask the guy behind the counter. Rachet straps are cheaper on a cost per foot basis.

    straps

I just picked up a set of these to use on one of my hammocks:

$3.99 for a pair. Label says they are polyester. The buckle was easy to cut off and still leave the sewn loop on the end.

Since you're in Eden prarie, Rochford supply isn't very far from you. I'd go there. Check em out online, pick what you want, call it in and pick it up.
