So far all I have made is a ton of stuff bags of various sizes and styles. The cottage industries have nothing to worry about from me. If sewing a crooked line if good then I am a expert.

Working on an UQ right now. Total price for material is a little over $100. Now if only the quilt was for me. Got to equip the family so I'm not talking to myself in the woods.

Two weeks ago I bought a brand new sew... "thread injector" I bought 2 meters of scrap material to practice on. I'm out of material and have used 500 yards of thread. I now have many small squares of nylon with 500 yards of stitches of different types in them. Now to order the good material for a project.
Suggestions ?
Start off with something big, thats what everyone else does!
You do want to be "normal" like the rest of us don't you?
I guess i have been blessed in this regard, that I haven't had these things happen. I think the worst thing that ever happened to me was slicing a very small slit in fabric that I had to patch. Other than that my projects have gone pretty good.
I love the 'start cutting fabric only to realize 4 inches in that you wanted an extra 2" of length' moment. Oh well, that is when people get a sweet deal in the for sale thread lol.
My biggest hangup, well one of them, is that I get halfway through a project after drying my paypal up for supplies only to realize that I want to tweak the design a bit. Another hangup is that I know I will never be 100% satisfied with said gear until tweak is made. So I sell said perfectly fine piece of gear to refuel my paypal, only to start the process all over again. Let's not talk about how many gear stashes I have made and I am still not 100% happy.
I have come to realize that I love conceptualizing UQ's, love starting the project, but by the end I hate the **** thing. The last one is the first time I tried dual diff cut and I tell you, IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Friggin p!ssed me off lol. But I love the finished product and don't think I will redesign . . . well at least for another year . . . I need to post photos up in the diy section.
Case in point. I just posted the above and then go to the UQ section to find this "how awesome will my UQ be if I use this material" Guess what is going on in my little head now . . DOH!
