    Shadowmoss' hugs!

Oh, and Lost, I continue to try to teach Nest how to hug last night as we left the dinner. I think he needs a lot of practice, so I'm blocking out some time to spend showing him exactly how he should be giving and receiving hugs.

    uh, topic? what topic?
Yep, Shadowmoss, I'll always remember when I met you. I drove to where I saw the hammocks in the woods, and not knowing a soul, walked up and said " Hi- is this Neo's hang out? I'm BillyBob", to which you replied "BILLYBOB!" and gave me a great BIG hug! That was great, a great way to meet someone. Well, a girl anyway. I'm not really all that outgoing myself, but I really appreciated that you are! It might have been a little strange, though, if Neo had greeted me that way!

Remind me to give you a big hug when we meet! I'll be moving down to your part of the world later this month. I guess your part is relative, one state over at least.

All major religious teachers whose teachings have endured centuries have taught this. The reason: truth is hard to kill. Just when you think you've managed to drown it, it pops to the surface again.

So, you are going to do it ( move down here), eh? I knew you were thinking about it. Well, you may have to get used to mostly late fall/winter/early spring hiking and camping, if you are like me. And unless Texas has some places fairly close to you, I'm not sure where you are going to hike that is near by. I'm sure you will find something. But central to north Alabama is about the closest to you that is pretty much AT like. Sipsey Wilderness comes to mind. However, I think where you are moving is about 6 hours from here, and an hour or two further to North Alabama.

The woods and hilly areas are nice, especially in the cool part of the year, here in north MS, but the trouble is finding enough public land for more than short day hikes, and places where you can overnight( of course, there is always "stealth"). But they are in the process of doing a "rails to trails" deal just west of here, converting a deserted rail track into a trail, which will run for 50 miles or more, straight north to south. I think it will be called "the Tanglefoot Trail". That may have some promise.

    Regardless, welcome neighbor!

Yep making the move. Funny thing is I was packing my 20 deg down bag thinking "WHY". Don't think I am going to need that for awhile.

It doesn't matter to me if it is AT like or not. As long as it is outdoors I'll check out almost any trail once. Sounds like I will only be a few hours from the Ozarks in AK. Night have to make the drive up there sometime.

The ozarks are great, Coffee! Highly reccommend doing it! And since rail trails were mentioned, those are great, too! A nice way to get in some cycling without dealing with cars...
