Got some time to go out and hike

Well I finally got some time out of my busy schedule to get out for a hike and test out some DIY gear. I made a stove from a v8 fusion can and it worked out great. I had used it at home to test it some and it burned really well. Well at home it boiled water in 6-7 min. So i tweeked it some and reworked the windscreen to fit closer to the pot and hold some heat in. Also made a lid out of roof flashing with a piece of metal tape for a knob. I really didnt get to test that version so i just took it with me on the hike.

The day was about 50 degrees out with some wind. It was perfect to test out the stove. The stove was awesome boiled in alittle over 5 min and continued on cooking my soup for a nother 7 with about an ounce of fuel. Anyway a good learning experience for sure. Next i have some ideas for some thread injecting. I'll post some pictures later.

Looks good. Did you just slide the 2 cut ends on top of each other and punch holes?

not really I cut the two peices, then took the extra to make the inside wall. There are actually instructional videos on youtube. See smokeeater908's video on making one. There are many more but that one was good. also tinny has one too.
