Nice looking shepherd. Love seeing working dogs at work.
Ground=Cold+Hard+Wet
Solution!!!! Sleep in a TREE
I seem to recall seeing on here somewhere how someone fashioned a dog hammock that hung below their human hammock, gear hammock-style. Might be worth a try but, again, 65# seems pretty big for any hammock. My 60# husky is perfectly happy on her pad beneath me; I "trained" her to use it (I'm a full time home hammocker) at home and she knows where to be when we're in the piney woods.
Yet another great vid Fronkey!
Flanger, WV posted a pic of his dog hammock about 5-6 posts ago
Well looks like I can add that to my DIY list.
1) New tarp
2) New pad
3) Doggy hammock.
My wife is going to think I'm nuts spending do much time in the workshop with a sewing machine, lol
WV do you have plans or any close up pictures of your insulated dog hammock? That thing looks awesome and I think I may try making one and training my Lab to use it.
Do dogs have issues with the mosquitoes?
Figure its a good thing to know... Looking to get me a hiking buddy someday! Leaning toward a Rottweiler.

My aunt sleeps in a Hennessy with her 60 lb lab. The lab loves it! I have seen this first hand. I think it is a matter of training. The dog sleeps in her bag with her, which allows her to actually push the limit of the bag by quite a bit=weight savings.
