Actually I have a couple of xtra long leads made by the Amish. Its the same material they use on harnesses for horses. Neopreen or something like that. Water, snow etc will not bother it.

I have a Mosquito net that hangs down to the ground. Both my dogs sleep on a blanket under my hammock and inside the net with me.

Great video. I have a 65lb pit mix who always sleeps with me in the bed. The little princess can't get close enough to me. She loves hiking but I just don't see her being able to spend the night on the ground instead of in the hammock with me. Has anyone else been able to overcome this situation? If so, how? I guess the best advice was to try it out in the back yard.

Bonaparte is a thin-coated pit mix, too. He loves sleeping under the hammock when it's not too cold. For Fall and Spring camping he can wear one of my old modified down vests and sleep on a pad, or he can use his own insulated hammock. My next dog will have a better coat.

I have a nylon diy tent for my beagle. I tie it up onto my hammock lines, use sticks for stakes on 4 points, and toss him a piece of fleece in it and he's set. If its cold i toss him his pad, but he hates sleeping on it so generally he will move his fleece off of it and sleep elsewhere (he does not have a ton of common sense, he tend to let the sleeping pad have his warm tent).
