Hello folks, so I wanted a tarp and was unhappy with the blue poly tarp and I don't yet have the funds for a nice silnylon tarp, nor do I have a sewing machine or access to one. So I pondered and pondered on what I could do. then I heard about how some one used a bed sheet as a tarp I thought that's cool I should try that. So here is what I did.
One King size bed sheet from goodwill 1.99
It was white so I dyed it tan.

Then I mixed up some DIY silicone mix 3:1 mineral spirits to silicone I used 30 oz ms to 10 oz silicone. Next time I'm going to use more because this was barley enough.

then I hung it up to dry and cure after a couple of day I did a shower test and the water just rolled off.Of course a field test is in order.
here are some pics of it setup in the back yard

I just did a button method with some .50 cal balls I had lying around on each of the corners.
My 3 year old thought this was the coolest thing ever.
well I hope this will help some others that are looking for a tarp solution without breaking the bank.
