A lot of people have used those kinds of shades as hammock insulation.

The bubble wrap does not work quite as well as the foam one with reflective mylar on one side.

Fourdog made a great video on the windscreens and posted it on this thread. Good info in there.

I have. I tried it as an upper torso pad. It kept me warm, but too warm, and I started to sweat, then chill. I used it more successfully as a foot pad.

What temperature was it at when you used this?

Upper 40s at night, however, I am a cold sleeper.

I just used the WW Jumbo Foam sun shade last night in 32* temps and was pretty impressed. I did no mods to it all, just tossed in in and hopped in. I was using a 40* mummy bag and no UQ/TQ. Long johns, wool socks, fleece pullover and a balaclava. My backside was pretty chilly, but manageable. I have been colder and wetter in a tent a number of times. I think this is going to be my permanent solution with a couple mods (wings, extra foam, stay clips.)

Tried it again this weekend. Lower 40s, and it was great. Not sure what the difference was between the nights, besides the 5 degrees or so.
