    Knotty Inspired Side-Stretch Hammock

My first shot at a DIY hammock.

I've made the rounds - Skeeter Beeter, WBBB, Switchback, BMBH

I, for the time being, have settled on an 11 foot side-stretch hammock.

I used 1.9 oz ripstop from diygearsupply

    I read Knotty's thread.

It was quite easy to make.

    Here's a video

Nice job on both projects. I do have a question. You mention that the webbing in the center of the hammock where the bungee attaches to would keep the barrel knot from bearing against the burned hole. Wouldn't the barrel knot need to be on the opposite side (the inside) of that webbing so the bungee was pulling on the webbing and not the knot? Also would you need a barrel knot on each end of the bungee? Just dead head one end and have the other be the adjustable side. I might be looking at all this wrong to, so I'm really just asking, not telling. But great job, good info in the video, thanks. I have a new diy hammock in my future as well and I imagine its gonna be from knottys instructions.
    Good luck,

Thanks for pointing that out. I couldn't quite figure that part out so I opted to add webbing and barrel knots (thanks for the name to that knot, I couldn't think of it) on everything and figured of give it a try and see what worked. This being the first time I strung this thing up, I could see right away adjustment was not needed on all 4 ends.

That actually makes much more sense. I'll report back.

    Head over to www.diygearsupply.com

It all depends on your specs and what you have on hand. I had some of these on hand so it was a bit cheaper.

For the exact item in the video you will need

4 yards of ripstop (I used 1.9 oz. If you are a lighter person you could use 1.5 oz or 1.1oz and save 8 bucks) 21.00
    1 spool of thread 3.65
20 feet of shock cord 4.00
4 cord locks (or some cordage for a barrel knot) .92

    30 bucks plus shipping.

If you make the bug net from the other post you can save on the price of the thread and shipping.
