    UQ Delima

    Here is my situation.

I had a WB 3-Season Yeti UQ and Mamba TQ w/ 1oz overfill in lower section and my feet froze. I used a Speer pad under them. Temps were about 25* in AL.

    Delima:

Get the KAQ New River (72" long @ 30oz) or KAQ Jarbridge River (58" long @ 20oz)? Save some weight/space and chance it or carry more weight and know my feet will be completely covered ??

I am 6' tall and my feet will still be slightly exposed with the Jarbridge (assuming I sleep fully extended), however I did pick up a pair of Sierra Designs Down Booties.

    Thoughts?

I use a 3/4 UQ, and am 6'2". I zip my jacket over the foot end of the hammock when temps go below 30F, and get plenty of warm coverage there. This keeps my pack small/light and gives more purpose for my jacket.

I may go with the Jarbridge River. Its in between a Full and 3/4. I hope the Down Booties work well.

down booties will help... but maybe try a thicker pad ... that or sometimes if your feet are against the bottom( or side i should say) of your hammock your feet can get cold.. at least mine do so i stuff something in the foot end of my TQ for extra insulation if it happens just something to try
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

jacket on foot end is very smart...down booties are smart too....the heating pads also help...cabelas has electric socks for those desparate for warm feet. My feet just go numb, never feel the cold--fingers are another story.

i'm 5'8" , my feet hang outside the jarbidge.

i have a full length and a 3/4 UQ--- the choice of which to take out
    depends on a few things:

    planned mileage
    planned pack load
    forecast temps

if i'm gonna be watching movies on tyvek, dutch oven cooking and farting around a basecamp, or, the temps are gonna dip to the teens- the full length always comes out.

if i'm pushing high mileage, more shoulder season temps are expected, and camp means a freezer bag meal, a few nips off the ol' ezra brooks, and a short-lived fire... i opt for the fractional quilt.

my trips vary greatly - so i got both sizes.

I am thinking about sewing 2 layers of the Speer together. I have a lot of it leftover. Make a nice 18"x18"x1/2"

I use partial leangth under quilts. Sometimes I wake with a cold foot and always find that I've slipped off the pad and my foot is against the nylon of the hammock. Carefully pad placement fixes this but the down booties are a great idea.

I would go with down booties before I went to a full length quilt.
But, I don't car camp, I hike. YMMV
