Rainfly question for North American

I have a question for my fellow Clark owners;
I have a Clark N.A. that has a lot of miles on her, and the stock std. size rain fly is finally shot.
I want to replace the rain fly with a larger 3 or 4 season fly with good coverage but not too heavy.
I will definitely be hanging it independent of the Clark with a separate ridgeline.
Now here is the question:
I have a $100.00 gift card for Amazon that I want to use towards the rainfly.
Any suggestions on an appropriate fly from Amazon.com?

I don't own one, but I hear they're pretty nice...a bit on the heavy side, though...would certainly make a good 4-season tarp.


Were you hoping to close the ends up like doors? If not, maybe the Campmor 10X10 Versatile tarp would be good for you. It's definitely bigger than the standard Clark fly.

Both of those look great, but well over 2 lbs for those two rainflys.
Right now with my setup and the old rainfly for my Clark that is worn out, my pack weight is about 20-22 lbs for 4 days, so a 2-3 lb rainfly is out of the question. But your choices look like good coverage and quality. Just won't work for me in my setup. But I do appreciate the feedback especially from a Sr. member here on the forums. Your experience is invaluable in selecting gear.
I was given this link on a aquaquest rainfly on Amazon, it doesn't seem to be too heavy.
I may be able to make this work for me.

I was looking at those Aqua-Quest tarps the other day. They look nice and seem to be pretty light. I would go with a little bigger than 10x7 though. I like good coverage in foul weather. I would especially go bigger if it is the only tarp, because it will have to do in all situations. Just my $.02.

I really like my vertex fly. The granite gear white lightening avail on amazon for $184 has fairly comparable specs @ 10' x 10' / 1 lb 5 oz. it also has a cat cut like the vertex.

With my gift certf., That White lightening rain fly is affordable for purchase from Amazon and a reasonable weight to pack. Thanks for the suggestion!!!

Maybe you can sell the Amazon gift certificate for something approaching its cash value, and buy a medium size rain fly from one of the several cottage makers and can come out far ahead in net outlay.

That would break my 18 year old daughters heart. She got me the certificate to get a rainfly on Amazon. ( I guess she forgot how to spell REI which was my original intention at Christmas) And all I really need right now ( and very badly), is a rainfly. So I better be honest and find something on Amazon.
I just thank God she didn't get me a Wal-Mart gift certificate with her requesting that I get my Rain-fly there!!!
