The Hammock Gear Burrow TQ is hard to beat. I used it @Florida Hang and was glad I had it. mid-20's temps and I was toasty warm underneath.

Thanks for the input folks maybe I should strap my SB on the outside of my pack and in the mean time look out on these website for clearance sales.

Kelty Cosmic 20. Check Amazon or Campmor, ranges between $80-100.

If I had any need for another down bag I'd be all over one - a steal at that price. Only down side is it looks like it's the neon green version.

Keep an eye on Sierra Trading Post as well. They often have some good deals, especially on Marmot stuff. I think Marmot runs "model years" or something, because they appear to rename thier stuff yearly, and you can always find "discontinued" models for cheap at STP.

For instance, I bought a Marmot "Wind River" a few years ago. 600 fill power, 1lb. 15oz. I picked mine up for 80 dollars from STP at the time. They are currently sold out: Marmot Wind River Sleeping Bag

Obviously, the one I linked is outside of your desired price range, but it's an example of another site to find good prices on quality gear. The big name brand companies are expensive when they first release a product, but once it goes to closeout, places like Campmor and Sierra Trading Post usually have good deals.

yeah for what you want in a bag your going to have to up the price you are willing to spend
there is a saying regarding gear ....well 2 really
    nice gear is not cheap
and you get what you pay for
i did the same thing when i started hanging ... and ended up spending more in the long run
    just something to think about
might be worth saving up and just getting a nice bag or TQ ... just use what you have now till you can get something better
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Thanks for the input folks. For now I believe I'll figure out a way to make my cheap bag work. I still haven't had time to start on my peapod conversion yet.

I used this as a topquilt and stayed warm on a 28* night at the caddo lake hang this last weekend. Looks like it's up to $100 now, but I got it a month or so ago when it was down to $82. My roommate has the 0* sibling of this one and loves it.

Note: make sure you get the down version. There is a synthetic version by the same name (Cosmic).

STP is offering 20% off all orders over $100. This might get you down where you need to be.
